In Minsk, a guy took someone else's money from an information kiosk and became a defendant in a criminal case of theft.
The press service of the Main Department of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reported this on Telegram.
A 43-year-old man contacted the Leninsky District Department of Internal Affairs in Minsk and reported that the 600 rubles he had deposited on his card had not reached it.
A Minsk resident topped up his card at an information kiosk on Rokossovsky Avenue. Without making sure that the bill acceptor had taken the money, the man left.
After some time, a 29-year-old resident of the Minsk region approached the information kiosk. He was also going to top up his card.
When the young man chose the necessary option, the information kiosk gave him 600 rubles.
The guy thought the equipment had made a mistake and took the money for himself.
Now he is a defendant in a criminal case of theft. Previously, the young man had not been held criminally liable.
The Main Directorate of Internal Affairs of the Minsk City Executive Committee reminds: property temporarily left unattended by the owner (lost, forgotten) is considered to be in his possession. Taking possession of such property is classified as theft.
