Minsk Half Marathon Starts: Around 20,000 People Are Taking Part

This Sunday, September 8, the Minsk Half Marathon is taking place in the Belarusian capital.

One of the most massive and spectacular sporting events of the year has already started.

According to the ONT TV channel, about 20,000 people from many countries around the world are taking part in the races.

The first to start were those who expressed a desire to overcome the 10-kilometer distance.

They started their run from Kirov Street and finished at the Dynamo stadium.

As reported earlier, running enthusiasts will be offered five distances today. The 10.5 km race has already begun.

The program also includes a 21.097 km distance and the most popular distance – five kilometers.

In addition, a corporate relay race and a family run with the participation of parents and their children are expected.

As for the representation of the half marathon participants, as stated, in addition to Belarusians and Russians, guests from China, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Turkey, Nigeria and a number of other countries are conquering the distance in Minsk today.

The day before, the State Traffic Inspectorate warned drivers: in connection with this sporting event, traffic on some streets in the center of the capital will be temporarily closed.
