A resident of the Belarusian capital decided to profitably invest the money she had on hand and turned to a trading platform for advice.

The first swindler I came across told me about profitable investments and even helpfully offered his help.

Cybercriminals persuaded a Minsk resident to invest tens of thousands of rubles in a non-existent project, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reports.

As it turned out, the girl herself requested the service by writing in a thematic messenger group.

She needed advice on how to top up her crypto wallet without commission.

One of the users got in touch and volunteered to provide all possible assistance in the area of profitable investments.

He recommended that the girl install an app from one of the trading platforms on her smartphone.

The victim transferred all of her virtual savings here, after which she was convinced to go to a phishing page.

Then everything follows the established pattern – entering data and a seed phrase that opens access to the crypto wallet.

As a result, the equivalent of 35 thousand rubles was stolen from the girl’s account.

After the victim realized her mistake, she tried to get her money back, but in vain.

She was asked to contact technical support, which in reality turned out to be a phishing page.

Local “specialists” offered her their services, which they valued at an amount equal to the amount lost.

After this, the girl turned to the police for help. A criminal case was opened.
