The capital's law enforcement officers detained a 12-year-old teenager on the spot.
The fact is that this young man jokingly “mined” one of the most famous shopping and entertainment centers in Belarus – “Expobel”.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic published details of the incident on its official Telegram channel.
According to the publication, employees of the said facility informed the police that the center was mined.
An investigative task force was immediately dispatched to the scene, the report says.
The investigator, the ministry notes, made the decision to evacuate the citizens who were in Expobel at that time.
Meanwhile, law enforcement officers found out who "mined" the shopping center. It turned out that the false report about this came from a 12-year-old teenager. By the way, he was detained.
According to the young man, he wanted to make a joke by sending a bomb threat.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that in Belarus, criminal liability for such acts is provided for from the age of 14 (maximum term – up to 7 years).
In addition, the perpetrator is required to pay all costs associated with responding to the false report.
If the crime was committed by a teenager under 14 years of age, then his parents will be responsible for reimbursing the costs.
