Two road accidents occurred almost simultaneously in Vitebsk region: 2 people died, four are in hospital

On Wednesday evening, November 27, two fatal road accidents occurred almost simultaneously in the Vitebsk region.

As a result of the accidents, two people died and four others were injured and taken to hospitals.

The regional State Traffic Safety Inspectorate press service reported this on its official Telegram channel.

According to the data released by the department, one of the incidents took place at around five in the evening on the 179th kilometer of the M8 Vitebsk-Gomel-Ukrainian border highway.

There, in the village of Antonovka in the Orsha district, a towed Opel with a 40-year-old woman at the wheel drove into oncoming traffic.

There was a collision with a Volkswagen driven by a 51-year-old man.

As a result of the accident, the latter died on the spot; the injured driver of the Opel and the 23-year-old passenger of the Volkswagen were taken to the hospital.

Almost simultaneously with this accident, another fatal accident occurred near the village of Kalinovo in the Vitebsk region.

There, a 64-year-old Nissan driver lost control and drove into oncoming traffic, where he collided with a Volvo truck.

The 61-year-old passenger of the car died from her injuries, the driver and the 59-year-old woman were hospitalized, the State Traffic Safety Inspectorate noted.

The State Traffic Safety Inspectorate, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, and investigative teams worked at the scene of the accident.
