Two earthquakes of magnitude 4.8 and 4.0 occurred off the coast of Kamchatka.
This was reported by the local branch of the Federal Research Center "Unified Geophysical Service of the Russian Academy of Sciences".
According to experts, the first “earth tremor” with a magnitude of 4.8 took place 32 kilometers from the village of Ust-Kamchatsk.
As TASS reports with reference to the said branch, the source of the tremors was located at a depth of 14 kilometers.
The second seismic event with a magnitude of 4 occurred 131 kilometers from Ust-Kamchatsk, the source was located at a depth of 64 kilometers.
According to information from the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations, this Sunday, November 17, earthquakes were registered in the Kamchatka Bay and the Bering Sea.
According to rescuers, the fury of the elements was not felt in populated areas.
There were no calls from citizens to the Emergency Dispatch Service of municipal districts of Kamchatka Krai, the department noted.
