The tragedy occurred in the Zhabinka district of the Brest region: a family ran across the railway tracks in front of an approaching train. A 22-year-old guy died.
The Telegram channel “#1region” of the press service of the Brest Regional Executive Committee reports on the incident that took place on the evening of November 7 (Thursday).
According to the information released, the young man was visiting his grandmother that day with his mother and his girlfriend.
In the evening, everyone was returning to Brest. At the Yakovchitsy stop, the family noticed an approaching train.
Despite the fact that the train was close, the citizens decided to run across the railroad tracks.
The driver applied emergency braking, but unfortunately, a collision with the guy could not be avoided. The latter died from his injuries at the scene.
The train was delayed for 28 minutes, the report says.
Belarusians are urged not to risk their lives and to take care of themselves and their loved ones by observing safety measures on the railway.
