Head-on collision near Svetlogorsk. 23-year-old guy died
On Thursday, November 14, a tragedy occurred in the Svetlogorsk district of the Gomel region of Belarus.
As a result of a head-on collision between two cars, a 23-year-old man died and another person was injured.
The press service of the Gomel Regional Executive Committee's Internal Affairs Directorate reported the incident on its official Telegram channel.
According to data released by the agency, the accident occurred at approximately 18:40.
At that time, on the Oktyabrsky-Parichi-Rechitsa highway, a 20-year-old driver of an Acura attempted to overtake a car driving in the same direction.
While performing this maneuver, the young man jumped into the oncoming traffic lane, where he collided head-on with a Daewoo driven by a 23-year-old citizen.
Unfortunately, as a result of the accident, the latter died at the scene of the incident from his injuries.
The second driver was taken to the hospital’s intensive care unit, the regional police department noted.
It was also reported that law enforcement officers are currently establishing all the circumstances of the tragedy that occurred.
Traffic police officers and an investigative task force were working at the scene of the accident.
