The strong wind raging in Belarus knocked down four New Year trees and damaged the roofs of 11 houses.
This was reported by the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Emergency Situations.
According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a strong wind with a speed of up to 26 meters per second knocked down 27 trees.
The largest number of fallen trees was in the Grodno region – 17. Seven trees fell in the Brest region, one in the Minsk region, and two in Minsk.
Roofs of 11 houses were damaged. In the Slonim district in the village of Volchki the wind destroyed a cowshed.
Four New Year trees fell: three in Grodno and one in Zaslavl (Minsk region).
There were no casualties. The Ministry of Emergency Situations and other organizations are carrying out restoration work and removing fallen trees.
Strong winds will continue tomorrow. According to weather forecasters, they will be observed throughout the country.
Wind speed will be 15-20 m/s, in Minsk – 15-18 m/s. The orange danger level will remain in effect.
