Damaged roofs and cars, fallen trees. A fierce wind hit Belarus

On Tuesday, December 17, 2024, a fierce wind raged in Belarus again.

It struck a particularly fierce blow at six populated areas of the country. The devastating power of the elements caused a lot of trouble.

In particular, the roofs of buildings and a car were damaged, and trees were knocked down.

The wind speed, as reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Belarus on its official Telegram channel, was 25 meters per second at peak moments.

The agency notes that the bad weather caused damage to six settlements in the Slutsk and Stolbtsy districts of the Minsk region.

As a result of the attack of the fierce wind, the roofs of 1 residential building and 8 agricultural buildings were damaged.

In addition, trees fell: the most in the Minsk region – three trees fell.

In the Brest region, the wind knocked down two trees, in the Gomel region – one.

In the Minsk region, a fallen tree damaged a car, the ministry noted.

They also reported that rescuers, together with employees of other organizations, were working to cut down and remove fallen trees.

There is currently no information available on whether anyone was injured.

By the way. Today, December 18, according to weather forecasters, the wind will continue to rage in Belarus.

Its speed, as stated the day before, could be from 15 to 18 meters per second on Wednesday.
