The tragedy occurred at a grain drying complex in the Gorodok district of the Vitebsk region of Belarus.
A man was fatally injured there. His body was found in a fan chute.
As reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee of the Vitebsk Region, on Monday afternoon, November 4, the company's workers were clearing the complex's shaft of debris.
To perform the specified work, they turned on one of the fans, left the door to the chamber with the equipment open, and went inside the mine.
Having heard the sound of the impact, they de-energized the complex and, upon inspection of the fan chamber, they discovered the body of a 57-year-old colleague in its trench, the department noted.
An investigative task force was working at the scene of the incident.
The necessary documentation was seized, a forensic medical examination was ordered. The company's employees were questioned.
It turned out that the deceased worked as an electric and gas welder, but his workplace was located on the other side of the agro-town. He came to his colleagues for lunch.
The Investigative Committee is currently conducting an investigation into the death of a person.
Particular attention is paid to establishing the causes and conditions that led to the tragedy.
