A minor died in a traffic accident in Vitebsk region, five people were hospitalized

Last night in the Vitebsk region, a 30-year-old driver caused an accident that resulted in the death of a teenager.

Four more children aged 13 to 18 were injured and hospitalized. According to preliminary information, the driver lost control.

On the night of November 9, while driving a VAZ car, on the 18th km of the N-2306 "Novka - Zamostochye" highway, a 30-year-old driver caused a fatal accident, the Telegram channel of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Belarus reports.

As a result, the car ended up off the roadway, then drove into a drainage canal and overturned.

In addition to the driver, there were four other passengers in the car – children aged 13 to 18.

The 14-year-old boy sitting in the front passenger seat died.

The driver and the children traveling with him, aged 13, 15, 16 and 18, were hospitalized with various injuries.

Traffic police officers and an investigative task force are working at the scene of the accident.

Addressing drivers, law enforcement officers remind that traffic regulations prohibit transporting passengers in a vehicle in a number exceeding the number of seats provided for by the design of the vehicle.

While driving, all occupants of the vehicle must wear seat belts.
