31-year-old guy attacked police officers with a chainsaw: how it all ended
An incident occurred in the Brest region: a troublemaker went at the police with a running chainsaw.
The man ignored warnings from law enforcement officers.
As a result, one of the officers used a weapon: he shot the attacker in the leg. The latter was hospitalized.
The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Belarus reported this on its Telegram channel on Sunday, October 20.
Details of what happened in Ivatsevichi district
It all started when a 60-year-old local resident contacted law enforcement agencies.
The woman said that her sister was being beaten by her son.
Law enforcement officers immediately went to the scene of the incident.
When the 31-year-old troublemaker saw the police, he took a chainsaw, started it up and went towards the law enforcement officers.
The latter told the man to stop. However, the attacker, who was possibly drunk, ignored the appeal.
After this, one of the policemen fired several warning shots, after which he shot the troublemaker in the leg.
The 31-year-old local resident was sent to one of the medical institutions: specialists there are providing assistance to the guy.
It is worth emphasizing that at the moment the troublemaker has the status of not only a patient, but also a defendant in a criminal case for violence or the threat of violence against a law enforcement officer.
The corresponding article of the Criminal Code of Belarus provides for up to 7 years of imprisonment.
