The emergency occurred on Mohammed Ali Avenue. A gas tank exploded and a fire started.
Its area was 900 square meters. At the moment, the fire has been extinguished. The gas station has been completely destroyed.
The exploding tanker flew into the courtyard of a house and damaged its corner. Several cars were also damaged.
According to the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, four people died, including two children.
The Chechen Ministry of Health reported five casualties.
According to preliminary information, the explosion was caused by a violation of safety regulations during fuel pumping.
The Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for Chechnya has opened a criminal case.
The head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, expressed his condolences to the relatives of the victims and said that he had taken the situation under personal control.
