Information has been received about the discovery of the place where, according to preliminary data, the Robinson R66 helicopter, which had previously gone missing in the Amur region of Russia, crashed.

According to the Amur Center for Civil Defense and Fire Safety, this is a location in the Zeisky District of the region.

It is stated that the site of the alleged plane crash was discovered by rescuers.

Two rescuers were sent down to prepare the helicopter pad and inspect the scene of the incident, MIA Rossiya Segodnyaquotes the report as saying.

In turn, the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations noted that the helicopter went missing on Monday, September 16, when an emergency beacon was activated.

It is known that there was one pilot and two passengers on board.

The aircraft was making an unregistered flight over the territory of the Zeisky municipal district.

The area where Robinson disappeared is swampy, according to experts.

A triggered emergency beacon indicates an abnormal situation about which the crew has signaled. It also means a potential emergency landing.

Two ground teams from the gold mining company "KHERGU" and rescuers from the Far Eastern Aviation Search and Rescue Center are participating in the search for the helicopter.

In addition, the Amur Center for Civil Defense and Fire Safety involved about 20 people and 7 units of equipment in the search, including all-terrain vehicles and a Mi-8 helicopter.

Law enforcement officers opened a criminal case regarding the violation of traffic rules and aircraft operation.

Currently, investigators and forensic experts are establishing all the circumstances of the incident.
