In just one day, Lida border guards discovered and confiscated two drones in the Ivyevsky district of the Grodno region.

The press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus reported this on its official Telegram channel.

The first case took place in the area of the village of Rudevshchina.

There, on September 11, servicemen from the Lida border detachment, while working on operational information, discovered a home-made UAV.

In addition, they found a battery for it.

The second case was recorded near the village of Korkunyaty, where a drone was also found.

The State Border Guard Service noted that the previous evening, border guards detained two Belarusians suspected of illegal activity.

The drones and components were delivered to the Lida Border Detachment for further investigation.

An administrative process is being conducted in connection with the violation of the border regime.

The agency noted that since the beginning of this year, Lida border guards have discovered 10 drones.

The Border Committee reminds: from April 1, the import, storage, operation and production of UAVs are prohibited in Belarus.

It is also prohibited to use the republic’s airspace “without proper permission.”

For such actions in the border zone or in the border strip, classified as a violation of the border regime, a fine of up to 2,000 rubles may be imposed.
