A fatal road accident occurred on Thursday morning, September 12, in the Rogachev district of the Gomel region of Belarus.
A retired driver, driving from a secondary road onto a main road, failed to give way to a truck.
Unfortunately, two people died as a result of the collision.
The press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic reported the incident on its official Telegram channel.
According to the department, at about eight in the morning on September 12, at the specified location on the P43 highway (Russian border - Krichev - Bobruisk - Ivatsevichi), a 71-year-old Ford driver was driving from a secondary road onto a main road.
According to preliminary information, the pensioner failed to give way to a DAF truck with a semi-trailer driven by a 32-year-old driver.
A collision occurred. As a result, the driver of the car and his 61-year-old passenger died from injuries.
State Traffic Safety Inspectorate officers and an investigative task force were working at the scene of the accident.
