Belarusian border guards in the border area with Poland discovered a cache containing elements of an aircraft-type UAV.
The press service of the State Border Committee of Belarus reported this on its official Telegram channel.
According to information released by the department, the discovery was made on the afternoon of August 30.
This happened while processing operational information: in Brest, border guards found components for aircraft-type drones and batteries.
An administrative process has been initiated against the owners of this property.
Operational investigative measures are being carried out to establish all the circumstances of the illegal activity, the report says.
The State Prosecutor’s Office reminds that an illegal workshop of this kind was previously discovered in the Brest region on August 21.
Then the border guards found and confiscated 7 drones with components and a thermal imager.
In connection with these incidents, the Border Committee calls on compatriots not to forget about the decree of the head of state, which has been in effect in the country since April 1.
The document (“On state registration and operation of civil unmanned aerial vehicles”) prohibits the import, storage, manufacture and operation of UAVs if there is no necessary permit.
It is also worth considering that “the illegal maintenance and use of drones in the border zone or border strip is a violation of the border regime.”
In this case, the offender faces administrative liability with a fine of up to 50 basic units (up to 2,000 rubles).
