Yacht sinks off coast of Egypt with 45 people on board

It recently became known that a tourist yacht sank off the coast of Egypt.

According to available information, there were 45 people on board the ship: 31 tourists and 14 crew members.

As reported by the portal "TUT NOVOSTI", the yacht was wrecked in the Red Sea off the coast of the city of Marsa el-Alam.

It is known that rescuers have now found and brought to shore some of the citizens on board.

There is no information yet on the exact number of people rescued. There is also no information on what countries' citizens were on the yacht.

Local authorities, according to media reports, have taken the situation under special control and are directly supervising the rescue operation.

The yacht set out to sea last Sunday, November 24. Five days later, on the 29th, it was supposed to arrive in Hurghada.

On Monday, November 25, at about half past five in the morning (about 06:30 Belarusian time), the ship sent out a distress signal.

Currently, experts are investigating the causes and circumstances of the crash.
