Experts from the University of Florida's Electoral Processes Laboratory have calculated how many Americans voted early in the presidential election.
The figure is impressive. According to information released by experts, we are talking about more than 78 million residents of the United States.
All of them decided to take part in the preliminary voting. Let us recall that the presidential elections in the country are scheduled for November 5.
Earlier, the same laboratory, as reported by MIA Rossiya Segodnya, reported that as of Saturday, November 2, approximately 70 million compatriots had voted early.
Of these, 36.5 million Americans cast their votes in person and 32.5 million by mail.
The next day, Sunday, the data was updated: as of November 3, more than 42 million US citizens had voted in person.
More than 35 million people in the United States cast their votes by mail.
The lab says that according to the latest preliminary data, the total number of people who voted (early) was 78 million people.
Of these, 42.6 million citizens voted in person and 35.3 million people voted by mail.
67.4 million ballots have been requested for mail-in voting, experts noted.
By the way, the record for the number of Americans who voted early belongs to the previous elections.
Then, in 2020, amid the coronavirus pandemic, over 101 million citizens cast their ballots (in person or by mail) in the days leading up to November 3, according to the Election Project.
Defeated Donald Trump accused Democrats of fraud due to the large number of mail-in votes.
However, in the current campaign, the politician is calling on his supporters to vote early.
By the way, the current US President Joe Biden has already voted.
Let us recall that the presidential elections in the United States are scheduled for November 5.
The White House seat is being fought over by Donald Trump, who has already occupied it, and current Vice President Kamala Harris.
The first represents the Republican Party, the second the Democratic Party.
