The United States is considering holding presidential and parliamentary elections in Ukraine in 2025 while hostilities with Russia continue.

The press bureau of the Russian Foreign Intelligence Service made this statement, citing incoming data.

It is specified: the possibility of replacing the current Ukrainian head of state (if necessary) is being considered by the leadership of the State Department.

Elections

Washington is considering holding presidential and parliamentary elections next year in the context of continued military action with Russia as one of the legitimate ways to eliminate the “overly presumptuous” V. Zelensky, MIA “Russia Today” quotes the SVR statement.

It is noted that the US Department of State has decided to begin “preventive development of issues” to create conditions for elections in Ukraine.

At the first stage, they plan to push the Ukrainian civil society structures under their control to come forward with a corresponding initiative through the US “democratization” funds and “think tanks”.

Washington hopes the initiative will receive "broad public support."

New party

The SVR draws attention to the fact that candidates for the elections will be approved by the State Department.

In addition, American NGOs will "select local community organizations to monitor the vote."

It is also stated that, at the suggestion of the United States, discussions have begun among Western-funded Ukrainian “civil activists” about the possibility of creating a new party.

This party, according to the idea of the authors of this large-scale project, should take a pro-American position during the elections.

The State Department wants such a party to enter the Verkhovna Rada, where it could become “an important element of the system of checks for any Ukrainian leader,” the Russian special service emphasizes.
