US President-elect Donald Trump has proposed to European leaders to introduce EU troops into Ukraine.

This, in his opinion, could ensure effective control over the observance of the ceasefire regime.

The Wall Street Journal newspaper informed the general public about the famous Republican's new idea, citing unnamed officials.

As the TASS agency, which has reviewed the publication, writes, Trump voiced this initiative during a recent meeting in Paris with Zelensky and Macron.

At the time, he said that he “supports the creation of a strong, armed Ukraine, but opposes its entry into NATO.”

The American politician is convinced that the EU should play a major role in ensuring security and supporting Kyiv.

The United States, according to him, can also provide some support, but does not intend to send its military to Ukraine.

Even at that meeting in Paris, Trump said that the EU needed to put pressure on China “to influence Russia to end the conflict.”

The talks touched on the issue of the possible introduction of duties on goods from China as one of the instruments in the dialogue with Beijing.

In turn, The Wall Street Journal reports that European politicians believe that Trump does not have a clear plan for resolving the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.
