Well-known Russian erudite Anatoly Wasserman, who became famous as a participant in “Svoya Igra,” spoke about Trump in the context of the Kremlin’s relations with the United States.

Anatoly, in particular, stated that the Republican who won the American presidential election could become a source of threats for Moscow as soon as he officially takes office as head of state.

At the same time, Wasserman considers Donald’s statements about strikes on Red Square in the event of Russia’s refusal to end the conflict to be “bragging.”

Under Trump, there will be no attacks on Red Square, Moskovsky Komsomolets quotes the political figure as saying.

He suggests that the elected American president will not want to "fight our country."

As for threats, for both Republicans and Democrats, they primarily come from Russian-Chinese cooperation, notes Wasserman.

However, according to him, each party has its own approach to this problem.

For example, the Democrats are “trying to tempt China in various ways,” including opening their market to it.

In this way, they hope that Beijing will stop supporting Moscow, which without it will “give in and dance to American music.”

The Republicans have chosen the opposite direction, trying to persuade Russia to stop “forceful support” for China.

Afterwards, they want to threaten the latter by depriving it of this support, and then subjugate China, after which they “take on us seriously.”

Trump and the SVO

Therefore, Trump, it seems to me, will try to portray a good attitude towards us. This will stop at the moment when Trump, like many politicians before him, understands that once you sit on us, you will get off, - Anatoly said.

In his opinion, with Trump coming to power, events in the SVO zone may undergo changes, but military operations will still continue.

The SVO, of course, will not end. Trump's arrival will somewhat reduce the force support for the terrorist organization called Ukraine, he said.

The politician cites the fact that Republicans and Democrats are supported by different weapons manufacturers as the reason for this.

It will take several months to redistribute the money between them, and then support for Kyiv will resume.

So we shouldn’t rely on Trump, but rather we should use our own efforts to press and finish off the militants,” Wasserman concluded.
