The President of Abkhazia has resigned. But there is a nuance

It recently became known that the President of Abkhazia, Aslan Bzhania, has submitted his resignation.

Vice President Badra Gunba shared this information with journalists.

As TASS reports , representatives of the government and opposition of Abkhazia signed an agreement.

It is this document that stipulates that Bzhania must submit a letter of resignation.

The agreement was reached during negotiations that began on the evening of November 18 and lasted more than 8 hours.

Today, November 19, the Abkhaz parliament must consider the submitted application.

The parties agreed that Vice President Badra Gunba would act as head of the republic.

In order to maintain stability in the country, Aslan Bzhania resigned, Gunba commented on the event.

In turn, the president’s press service released a statement in which it was stated that Bzhania was resigning in order to “preserve stability and constitutional order in the country.”

For its part, the opposition promised that on November 19, people on the territory and inside the government building complex would disperse.

In case of failure to comply with this point, President Bzhania will withdraw his resignation, the agreement states.

Today, as follows from the agreement, the parliament of the republic must consider the president’s resignation letter.
