Shooting in Abkhazia's parliament: one deputy killed

A very serious criminal incident occurred within the walls of the Abkhazian parliament building.

There, according to media reports, a shooting took place, resulting in the death of one of the deputies.

In particular, the information came from the republic’s Prosecutor General’s Office, as reported by the Belta agency.

Details of the incident stated that fire was opened during a closed meeting.

At the moment it is known (according to preliminary data) that the shooter was MP Adgur Kharazia.

His actions resulted in two other members of parliament being injured.

Both wounded people's representatives were taken to the intensive care unit of one of the country's healthcare institutions.

Later, one of the wounded deputies died there from his injuries, journalists report.

Their information about the death of the parliamentarian was officially confirmed by the Abkhazian Ministry of Health.

An investigative task force was working at the scene.

Currently, law enforcement officers are establishing the causes and all circumstances of the incident.

There is no information yet on whether anyone else was injured in the shooting.
