Russian Ambassador's Motorcade Attacked in Pakistan: Policeman Killed

In Pakistan, the motorcade of the Russian ambassador was attacked. An improvised explosive device was detonated.

As a result, one police officer was killed and four more law enforcement officers were injured.

According to media reports, the incident took place in Swat district, located in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province.

As TASS writes , citing the Geo TV channel, which in turn cites the police, the target of the attack was a motorcade with foreign diplomats.

Among them, according to press reports, was the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan, Albert Khorev.

The explosion occurred near the escort vehicle. One policeman was killed and four others were injured.

As far as is known, none of the diplomats were hurt, they are safe and heading to Islamabad.

Earlier, the press service of the Russian embassy reported that Khorev was in the north of the country as part of a delegation of ambassadors from several other countries.

He participated in the Swat Valley Tourism Development Forum in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The event was organized by the Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
