King Philip VI of Spain and his retinue arrived in Valencia, which had suffered from severe floods.

The head of the Spanish government, Pedro Sanchez, and the head of the Cabinet of Ministers of the autonomous community of Valencia, Carlos Mason, came to visit local residents along with him.

But the locals were not pleased with this visit by high-ranking officials and royals (it is reported that Queen Letizia also came).

As Belta writes , the guests were greeted in a very unfriendly manner: they were insulted and pelted with mud and stones.

Spanish media reported that in the town of Paiporta, the king and his retinue were met with cries of “Get out!”, “Murderers” and more obscene language.

The king tried to calm the angry citizens, but the visit was cut short.

The publications note that local residents expressed their dissatisfaction with the fact that the authorities, in their opinion, did not respond to the incident in a timely manner.

Police deployed mounted officers to contain the most aggressive citizens.

It should be noted that Valencia suffered more than other regions of the country from the elements.

According to the latest figures, almost 220 people have died due to floods in Spain, and the search for missing people continues.
