Lithuanians who hold dual citizenship of the Russian Federation, Belarus or China will not be accepted into military service.
The corresponding bill was prepared by the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense and the Seimas Committee on National Security and Defense.
This was reported by the BNS agency, citing Lithuanian Defense Minister Laurynas Kasciunas, as reported by TUT NOVOSTI .
The bill defines Russia, Belarus and China as countries that threaten Lithuania's national security.
As the head of the Lithuanian Ministry of Defense reported, Lithuanians who have dual citizenship of the Russian Federation, Belarus or China will not be accepted to serve in the Armed Forces.
And those who accepted citizenship of Russia, Belarus or China during their service should be discharged from the army, added the head of the Lithuanian defense ministry.
Kasciunas has repeatedly initiated the introduction of strict restrictions against citizens of the Russian Federation and Belarus living in Lithuania.
In particular, he came up with the idea of banning the issuance of Lithuanian citizenship to Russians and Belarusians.
