The Kyiv authorities have announced their wishes regarding their compatriots living in European countries.
In particular, a request was made to the European Union to stop supporting Ukrainian refugees.
But if not stop it, then at least cut it down significantly.
In this way, as they hope in Kyiv, Brussels can put pressure on Ukrainians to force them to return to their homeland.
This was reported by the TASS agency with reference to the Spanish newspaper El País.
According to the latter, millions of residents have left Ukraine since the start of the conflict.
Currently, the article says, there are still between 6 and 10 million Ukrainians abroad.
The authorities of their country intend to bring back their compatriots, since, among other problems, they are concerned about the demographic crisis.
In order to achieve its goals, Kyiv began to consider various options.
One of them is the reduction of aid to refugees by EU countries and the denial of access to consular services to men of military age.
By the way. According to the data of the Office of the UN High Commissioner for Refugees, since the beginning of the Russian SVO, about 10 million citizens have left Ukraine.
Currently, the largest number of them live in Poland and Germany – about 2.3 million people.
