Georgia will not allow the Ukrainian “Maidan” scenario to be realized.
This was stated by the head of the government of the republic, Irakli Kobakhidze, at a briefing on November 30.
The statement by the Georgian Prime Minister is quoted by TASS .
The Georgian Prime Minister noted that Georgia, unlike Ukraine in 2013, is an independent state with strong institutions and a wise people, whose firmness no one will be able to shake.
The "Maidan" scenario will not be able to come true in Georgia. Georgia is a state, and the state, of course, will not allow this, - Kobakhidze stated.
He expressed gratitude to the Minister of Internal Affairs Vakhtang Gomelauri and all police officers for preventing an attack on the constitutional order.
This was not a peaceful action, the head of the Georgian government emphasized.
On November 28, Kobakhidze said that the ruling Georgian Dream party had decided not to include the issue of negotiations on the country's accession to the European Union on the agenda until the end of 2028.
This sparked protests that escalated into clashes with police on Saturday night.
Water cannons and tear gas were used, there are casualties on both sides. About 150 people have been detained in two days.
