Recently it became known about a plane crash that occurred near the capital of Lithuania.
A cargo plane crashed while approaching Vilnius International Airport.
The cargo ship crashed into one of the residential buildings, as reported on the national radio LRT by the airport representative Marius Zelenius.
According to him, a DHL plane crashed onto a two-story house.
According to preliminary information, there were two pilots and two company employees on board, TASS agency quotes Zelyanius as saying.
It is known that one of the pilots was saved. The second, as the media reports, did not survive.
In particular, according to LRT, rescuers pulled the pilot from under the wreckage of the aircraft; he was conscious.
However, a few minutes later he “died from his injuries,” the media outlet reports.
There is no information yet about the rest of the people on board, but according to the same radio, two citizens were taken to the hospital.
Firefighters are working at the crash site. There is also no information on whether there were people in the house where the plane crashed.
The plane that crashed was reportedly flying from Leipzig, Germany, to the Lithuanian capital.
