Another explosion has rocked Cologne – the third in the last 10 days
It recently became known that on Wednesday morning, September 25, another explosion thundered in the German city of Cologne.
This time the incident took place on the outskirts of a German town popular with tourists.
As Belta reports , according to the DPA agency, this is already the third explosion in the city in the last 10 days.
The same agency indicates that the current explosion occurred in one of the apartment buildings at approximately 02:45 (03:45 Belarusian time).
As a result, a fire broke out in the cafe located on the first floor of the building.
Two dozen residents were evacuated from the building. Two of them were slightly injured and suffered carbon monoxide poisoning.
It is not yet clear what caused the explosion. Police are investigating whether it is related to previous explosions in the city.
Let us recall that on September 16, an explosion occurred near the Vanity Club Cologne in Cologne. One person was injured.
Some time later, law enforcement officials published a photograph of a person suspected of the crime (it was assumed that he had planted the explosives).
On the morning of September 18, another explosion occurred near a clothing store. The police responded with a large-scale operation in the city center.
On September 22, a similar incident occurred in the community of Wachtberg, which borders Bonn and is part of the administrative district of Cologne.
According to preliminary information, the attackers may have used a low-power explosive device, but their search has not yet been successful.
