Slovakian Prime Minister Robert Fico said that attempts to assassinate him continue.
The politician spoke about an incident that took place in the east of the country at the beginning of last month.
TASS reports this with reference to an interview that Fico gave to one of the foreign media outlets.
Then an event dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Carpathian-Dukla offensive operation took place.
A man with a weapon was detained at the scene.
According to Fico, the detainee hates him because of his views on the Ukrainian conflict.
The Slovak prime minister stressed that the man, who was detained early last month, was "belligerent".
The weapon was found on the man when he walked through a metal detector.
On May 15 of this year, writer Juraj Cintula attempted to assassinate Robert Fico.
It happened in the town of Handlova in the western part of the country.
The head of the Slovak government was seriously injured. Doctors performed several operations.
Fico's return to office did not take place until mid-summer.
