On the night of October 26, the Israel Defense Forces carried out airstrikes on military targets in Iran.

The strikes were carried out in response to Iranian attacks on Israel in recent months, the IDF Spokesperson's Unit said.
The statement noted that the mission had been accomplished, but Israel would be forced to respond again if Iran began another round of escalation.
Iran's armed forces reported that a number of their facilities in the provinces of Tehran, Khuzestan and Ilam were attacked.
The Iranian Armed Forces also reported the death of two servicemen. There were no reports of casualties from Israel.
The Jerusalem Post reports that more than 100 aircraft were involved in the attack.
According to The New York Times, about 20 targets were hit. Iran denied this information.
Axios journalist Barak Ravid reported that there were three series of strikes. The first wave targeted the missile defense system, the second and third – drone and missile bases and their production facilities.
According to the ShafaqNA agency, there were no strikes on strategic and nuclear facilities.
According to Axios, Israel warned Iran through third countries about the attack and demanded that it not respond, otherwise it would launch a more powerful strike.
