Pashinyan said that the draft peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan has been agreed upon by 80-90%

Thursday, October 24, was the final day of the BRICS summit in the Republic of Tatarstan.

During one of the events within the framework of the forum, the head of the Armenian government Nikol Pashinyan made an important statement.

The politician said that the draft peace treaty between Yerevan and Baku has been largely agreed upon.

According to Pashinyan, 80-90 percent of the work on the document has already been done.

The draft agreement on the establishment of peace and interstate relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaijan has been agreed upon by at least 80-90%, MIA " Russia Today " quotes the Armenian Prime Minister as saying.

What is agreed within the framework of the draft agreement between Armenia and Azerbaijan

As Pashinyan noted, it is already possible to talk about the parties agreeing on the wording related to the following issues:

  • mutual recognition by the Armenian and Azerbaijani sides of each other’s territorial integrity;
  • the absence of claims between the two countries against each other that are related to territories;
  • the commitment of Yerevan and Baku not to make similar claims in the future;
  • non-use of force by Armenia and Azerbaijan;
  • renunciation of the threat of force by both parties;
  • the refusal of Armenia and Azerbaijan to interfere in each other's internal affairs;
  • establishment of Azerbaijani-Armenian diplomatic relations.
