The West proposed that Georgia to enter into an armed conflict with the Russian Federation.

The corresponding statement was made by Bidzina Ivanishvili, who is the honorary chairman of the political force "Georgian Dream".

The politician shared this information in an interview with one of Georgia’s TV channels, TASS reports.

According to Ivanishvili, at one time a high-ranking official in the West approached Irakli Garibashvili (the head of the Georgian government in 2013-2015 and 2021-2024) with a proposal to start a war with Russia.

It was assumed that the conflict between the Transcaucasian republic and the Russian Federation would last 3-4 days, after which the country would begin partisan resistance.

Ivanishvili noted that Garibashvili told him about the West’s proposal to Georgia to start a war with Russia.

The Honorary Chairman of the Georgian Dream emphasized that after that conversation, representatives of the political force began to demonstrate composure and began to act against proposals similar to those described above.

It is worth noting that what Ivanishvili said is not the first statement by Georgian politicians about attempts to drag the Transcaucasian republic into a confrontation with the Russian Federation.
