Orban Accuses European Commission of Seeking to Overthrow Hungarian Government

Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orban on October 11 accused the European Commission of seeking to overthrow the country's government.

The head of the Hungarian government made the corresponding statement on the Hungarian radio station Kossuth.

Orban said that EC President Ursula von der Leyen and the leader of the European People's Party faction in the European Parliament, Manfred Weber, are planning to overthrow the legitimate government of Hungary and replace it with a "Brussels-style administration."

The Hungarian Prime Minister clarified that von der Leyen wants to put Klara Dobrev from the opposition Democratic Coalition at the head of the Hungarian government.

Weber, Orban continued, wants to see Péter Magyar, who heads the opposition Tisza party, as prime minister.
