The Polish Ministry of National Defense made a resonant statement.
Thus, the deputy head of this department, Cezary Tomczyk, said that by the end of this year, Warsaw will begin building fortifications on the borders with the Russian Federation and the Republic of Belarus.
The representative of the Polish Ministry of Defense noted that the above-mentioned events will be carried out within the framework of the Eastern Shield program.
According to Tomczyk, Warsaw plans to carry out the first tests of the Eastern Shield elements in the coming weeks.
The statement made by a representative of the Polish Ministry of National Defense was reported by BELTA with reference to the department’s website.
In order to implement this program, Warsaw intends to spend about 10 billion zlotys (almost 2.6 billion US dollars).
The program is scheduled to be completed in 2028.
It is emphasized that within the framework of the “Eastern Shield” they may begin to build fortifications on the ground.
