A major scandal has erupted in Poland, leading to a number of resignations of officials.

The culprit is "children's vodka." That's what local journalists called a certain type of product.

The point is that not long ago, Polish stores began selling alcoholic beverages in containers resembling baby products.

As reported by MIA "Russia Today", one of the local producers released liqueurs (15%), cordials (28%) and vodka (40%) in plastic tubes.

Externally, the listed drinks in unusual tubes resemble packages of children's fruit juices and mousses.

Polish journalists dubbed them "alcohol tubes" and "children's vodka".

An outraged Prime Minister Donald Tusk said there would be "personnel consequences for people who did not exercise due vigilance."

According to him, what happened could affect the safety and health of Polish children.

Following his statement, the head of the Ministry of Health, Izabella Leszczyna, dismissed the director of the National Center for Combating Addiction, Piotr Yablonski.

And the Speaker of the Sejm, Szymon Holownia, demanded that the Director of the Office for Competition and Consumer Protection promptly deal with the incident.

There is no room for negotiations. This threat must go away. And the people who allowed this to happen must face the consequences, he said.

The manufacturer promised to stop producing this product and recall those that had entered retail chains.
