Germany considers restoration of the undermined Nord Streams possible and justified

Some German politicians have come to the conclusion that the restoration of the undermined Nord Stream pipeline is possible and justified.

In particular, this is the opinion of Bundestag member Steffen Kotre.

In a conversation with MIA "Russia Today" he stated that without Russian gas the industry of his homeland is seriously suffering.

What I hear indicates that this gas pipeline can be, so to speak, relatively comfortably restored, the deputy said.

According to him, the process will not require such substantial financial investments as if a new main gas pipeline were being built.

In this respect, it is definitely worth it. Every gas pipeline to Germany and Europe is worth it, the politician said on the sidelines of the Russian Energy Week.

And he added: today, when there are no deliveries of “blue fuel” from the Russian Federation, we can talk about one of “two, three, four nails driven into the coffin of our industry.”

The MP complained that his country was experiencing “unprecedented deindustrialisation.”

He cites, among other things, gas prices, which have increased two to three times on the stock exchange, as the reason for this.

Mr. Kotre noted that Berlin can only obtain cheap energy resources from Russia.
