It recently became known that Polish President Andrzej Duda will soon appear in court.

This will reportedly happen after his term as head of state expires, at the end of October 2025.

This information was released by the Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior, reports MIA Rossiya Segodnya.

It was this organization, the Russian publication notes, that had previously filed a lawsuit against Duda, accusing him of “insulting the citizens of his state.”

This refers to the president's speech in 2023, in which he spoke negatively about Agnieszka Holland's film Green Border.

This film tells about the events on the Polish-Belarusian border, while showing the border guards and other security forces of Poland in an unflattering light.

Duda said he was not surprised when Polish Border Guard officers used the expression "only pigs sit in the cinema" in their assessment of the film.

This phrase appeared during the occupation of Poland by Nazi Germany, when Nazi propaganda films were shown in the republic’s cinemas.

When will the trial be?

The Center for Monitoring Racist and Xenophobic Behavior, which filed a lawsuit against Duda, published a notice from the court on one of the social networks.

It stated that the Warsaw District Court had set the hearing of the case for October 24, 2025.

By that time, the defendant's presidential powers will expire - in August of next year.

He will not be able to run for another term, since he is holding the position for the second time in a row.

According to the notice, it is expected that the court hearing will be held remotely.

The fact that the hearing was scheduled was confirmed by the head of the Chancellery of the President of Poland, Małgorzata Paprocka.

According to her, Duda will be represented by a lawyer at the upcoming court hearing.
