Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said that more and more countries want to create conditions for resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
Many, the diplomat noted, believe that the risk of escalation of this crisis, as well as its expansion, continues to grow.
Earlier, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi announced the intention of China, Brazil and a number of countries in the Global South to create an open platform, “Friends of Peace,” to resolve the Ukrainian crisis.
Commenting on this statement, Mr. Jian stated: the Ukrainian crisis continues to drag on.
The risk of its escalation and expansion is constantly growing, the international community is concerned about this everywhere, the diplomat was quoted as saying by MIA Rossiya Segodnya.
According to him, not long ago China and Brazil came up with a consensus on resolving the conflict through political means.
The document includes six points. According to Jiang, it has received positive feedback and support from the international community.
He noted that recently there have been growing international calls for peace talks on the issue of the Russian-Ukrainian confrontation.
And more and more countries in the Global South are uniting to this end, actively trying to create an atmosphere and build the conditions for peace, the Foreign Ministry official said.
