The United States has urgently deployed troops and weapons to the Aleutian Islands (Alaska) amid the Russia-China Ocean 2024 command and staff exercises.

This was reported by the publication Business Insider.

Why the US moved troops to Alaska

The deployment of troops and equipment to Alaska is intended to demonstrate the U.S. Army Pacific's ability to move troops without warning to remote locations, U.S. military officials told BI.

It is noted that the Hymars missile systems have also been deployed to Alaska.

The US military has rushed weapons and troops to the far end of Alaska in a surprise show of force, the publication said.
