Ivanishvili: Georgia will find the strength to apologize to Ossetians for the 2008 war

The founder and honorary chairman of Georgia's ruling party, Georgian Dream, Bidzina Ivanishvili, said that the country's authorities will find the strength to apologize to the Ossetians for the 2008 war.

Ivanishvili made this statement on September 14 at a pre-election rally in Gori.

What Ivanishvili said about apologizing to Ossetians

Ivanishvili said that immediately after the parliamentary elections, which are scheduled for October 26, the instigators of the 2008 war will receive the strictest legal response.

He assured that the country's authorities will definitely find the strength to apologize to the Ossetians for this war.

According to the politician, the Georgian Dream needs to obtain a constitutional majority in parliament in order to bring former President Mikheil Saakashvili's United National Movement party to trial for unleashing the war.

Ivanishvili expressed confidence that the fratricidal confrontation imposed on Georgians and Ossetians by Georgia’s enemies will end in mutual forgiveness and reconciliation.
