Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian said he considers it necessary to move the country's capital.

Initiates the transfer of the capital of the Islamic Republic from Tehran to the south, namely to the coast of the Persian Gulf.

We have no other option but to move the economic and political center to the southern coast of the country, the TASS agency quotes the head of state as saying.

Mr. Pezeshkian justifies his idea by the fact that Tehran “faces problems” that cannot be solved in any other way.

The President explained that because raw materials for the creation of products are delivered from the south, and then finished goods for export go back to the south, Iran’s competitiveness is significantly reduced.
