US President Joe Biden said the Secret Service has banned him from approaching crowds.
According to him, the employees of this department cited security considerations as the reason for this.
The head of state shared this information with journalists on the grounds of the White House after returning from a vacation spent in the state of Delaware.
I feel fine, except that I can no longer approach the crowd, the Secret Service does not allow me, TASS quotes the American leader as saying.
He was asked: what was the rationale for the department's decision? The journalists heard the following answer:
Because they said it was too dangerous. No one could go out there.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre was asked to comment on the situation, but she referred inquirers to the Secret Service.
"I would refer you to the Secret Service. When it comes to the security of the president, I can't talk about that, you'll have to go there," she said.
Russian news agency TASS attempted to contact the Secret Service for comment on Biden's statement.
As of now, the publication writes, no response has been received to the request.
