Have you decided to plant a thuja at your dacha? Think this decision over carefully.
The plant is, of course, beautiful, but incorrectly planted thujas can cause harm.
We'll tell you what you need to consider when planting thuja.
Firstly, thuja is not suitable for planting directly next to the house.
This plant has a powerful root system that can damage the foundation.
The distance between the thuja and the house should be at least three meters.
Secondly, you cannot plant thuja in close proximity to berry bushes.
Raspberries, gooseberries, and currants definitely won’t like being next to thuja.
Thirdly, it is not recommended to plant thuja next to crops that have branched roots.
This will lead to competition for nutrients and disruption of the development of both plants.
In addition, it is highly undesirable to plant thujas close to each other.
The recommended distance between plants varies from one and a half to five meters (depending on the variety and composition).
