The problem of many gardeners, horticulturists, summer residents and other owners of land plots who grow plants is ants and aphids.

These voracious insects attack crops in hordes, eating and eating them, and if something is not eaten, it is damaged.

At the same time, the ants bring aphids with them and protect them, because they need them.

And this lady pest, like some kind of vampire, eternally suffering and never quenching her thirst, can endlessly suck the juices from plants.

In addition, the ant horde is busy building their homes – anthills – in the occupied territories.

Needless to say, all this seriously harms the roots of the plants being grown, and has a negative impact on the buds and fruits, especially in young plants and berries.

Folk methods of struggle

Of course, there are chemical means of controlling insects.

But not everyone wants to use them, fearing potential side effects for the area and their own health.

In this case, folk methods of confronting impudent little aliens, tested by solid practice of experienced summer residents, will come to the rescue.

It is quite possible that your grandparents also resorted to such actions.

Be that as it may, people in the know say unequivocally: the methods are very effective and really get rid of ants and aphids.

Ash, vinegar, repellents

We use only natural products. For example, ash or cinnamon.

All you need to do is sprinkle the specified substances on the places where ants are active.

A vinegar solution can also repel harmful insects from plants.

We make a mixture: add 1 glass of vinegar to 1 liter of water. Then we treat the paths and anthills.

No less effective are repellent plants. You can plant, for example, wormwood or tansy along the plot.

Sweets, ribbons, boiling water

Since ants are fond of sweets, they can be used as bait.

As such a remedy, we use a mixture of sugar and boric acid (proportion – 1 to 1).

Let's leave it near the anthill - this way the poison will reach the deepest parts of their dwellings.

And the corn flour that the ant eats will begin to swell in its stomach, which will lead to the death of the insect.

You can tie sticky tape around trees and bushes, thus preventing insects from accessing the plants.

If the anthill has grown too large, you can pour boiling water or a saline solution into it.
