If you plant these plants next to raspberries, don't expect a harvest.

There are plants that have a very detrimental effect on the development of raspberry bushes.

Therefore, for those summer residents who seriously expect a good berry harvest in the new season, it is not recommended to provide such a neighborhood.

Anastasia Kovrizhnykh, an expert of the online publication BelNovosti, agronomist and landscape designer, spoke about which crops are contraindicated as neighbors for raspberries.

First of all, you shouldn’t “prescribe” grapes to raspberries – they can suppress the growth of raspberry bushes due to their aggressiveness.

The proximity to grapes threatens the raspberries with complete drying out.

Also, you shouldn’t plant radishes and parsley next to it, as they negatively affect the development of raspberries, as well as the taste of their berries.

Sea buckthorn, elderberry and jasmine are bad neighbors - they compete with each other for nutrients.

Don't expect raspberries to produce berries if you plant strawberries, wild strawberries, blueberries, and bilberries with them.

The named plants will try to take away nutritional resources from the raspberries.

At the same time, strawberries can “ensure” the rotting of the raspberry root system.

Potatoes and eggplants also pose a threat of spreading root rot.

If raspberry bushes are exposed to this disease, they will immediately dry out and, accordingly, die.

In a plot where there were peppers or tomatoes, raspberries can be planted only 4 years after these plants.

The fact is that the aforementioned plants of the nightshade family can be carriers of verticillium root rot, which is very dangerous for raspberries.
