October-November, that is, the time while the soil has not yet frozen, is perfect for preparing soil for seedlings.

According to experienced gardeners, the best soil for seedlings is in the forest - this is forest litter made from fallen leaves, rich in humus and free of parasites.

For two parts of leaf soil, take 1 part of three-year-old, well-rotted humus.

It is clear that such an ingredient may not be available, so it can be replaced with the same amount of compost.

You also need to take 1 part of neutral or deoxidized peat: make sure that its pH is from 5.5 to 6.5 units.

And be sure to stock up on ash - in the amount of one tenth of the total volume of the soil mixture.

If after preparing the soil for seedlings you find that it is very heavy or dense, you can include sand, rotted sawdust, perlite or vermiculite in its composition.

As a final step, treat the soil mixture against pathogens by pouring it with the preparation “Fiosporin-M”.

Dissolve a tablespoon of the preparation in a liter of water and water the soil with this solution. As a result, the soil should become moist, but not turn into mud.

All that's left is to pour the soil into bags or thick garbage bags so that it doesn't dry out, and leave it for the winter on a balcony, in a shed, garage or other cool place - the main thing is that it doesn't freeze here.

Two weeks before the planned sowing, the soil can be moved indoors.
